STYLSS Mix 026: ELLIE HERRING
For the 26th installment of the STYLSS Mix Series, we invited Lexington, Kentucky’s ELLIE HERRING to join us. She describes the eclectic mix as “a bunch of tracks that I’d catch a grenade for right now. Including a couple of bootlegs from me & some released [& unreleased] stuff from my buds. AW4U.”
STYLSS Recipe 026: ELLIE HERRING’s Kentucky Bourbon Balls
Ingredients: (makes 4 dozen):
- 1 stick of butter
- 2 cups of powdered sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
- 4 ounces bitter chocolate
- 4 tablespoons bourbon – Feel free to add a bunch more bourbon if you’d like. (OBVIOUSLY DO THIS)
Directions:
- Soften butter in the microwave for 15-20 seconds.
- Mix the butter & sugar into a large mixing bowl
- Throw in the chopped pecans & bourbon & mix all together.
- Use a teaspoon as guide to create little balls on a waxed lined cookie sheet.
- On the next day, melt both sets of chocolates in a double boiler.
- Use a spoon to help drizzle the chocolate on the bourbon ball.
- Place on wax paper in the refrigerator to harden.
For more bourbon flavor, soak the pecans in bowl of bourbon overnight before adding into the creamy butter & powder sugar mixture. (OBVIOUSLY DO THIS)
