STYLSS Single 011: LOOK. – Rebirth (ft. NOAHN)
‘Rebirth’ is the emotional creation from STYLSS OG affiliate, Lucas Todd aka LOOK. He tagged up with vocalist Noah Stanley to give you a quick glimpse into what the future holds for these two. Expect more from this team very soon.
“While I was in PDX living with Cory & some other STYLSS fam, my old friend Noahn from Moorpark heard my hand in hand bootleg that he liked & so when I moved back to California I played a few house parties at his place. He told me his mom is a touring artist in Japan (Junko Yagami) & that he sings too & wanted to work on something. So I went back over to his house the next morning, made sidewalk slammers (half a 40z of malt liqour & the other half 4loko lol) & tried to make something. I made this weird track & noah recorded vocals on it & that eventually became our first tune “Krewcifiction” which is a kinda poppy but a lil dark & trippy too. Rebirth is the 3rd track Noah has recorded on since then. The lyrics are about Noah moving out of his house in Moorpark & away from his shitty neighbors/psychotic landlord to an apartment in the city next door(Simi Valley) where we’ve been working on an EP for our new project “118 Dreams”. My approach to Rebirth was pretty simple, the orchestral strings and clean chords over 808s are pretty routine for me which made this more natural & easy to play live but this was my first time mixing that sort of sound with original singing & it almost seemed made for the style. I think I originally had spooky black in mind when i was making this but i showed noah & he sang somethin over it that heavily resonated with me so I gave it to him instead.“ -LOOK.
